Kindred is incredibly poetic. The main protagonist goes through an incredible journey, back and forth in time... to save her ancestors. However, in doing so, she must face the ugly reality that her ancestors had to deal with. And perhaps, to realize that despite generations of progresses, some things never change. There are many parallels and symbols, and a lot of themes explored in a story that seems so simple.
