THUG is the female version of AAB.Both are heart-wrenching, thought-provoking, and very real life. I'm not gonna lie that reading such books are bringing some emotional damage to myself. Mostly because in my world, I'm a majority (albeit being female) so I rarely gained oppression (except for being a woman).Stories like THUG and AAB are crucial to us who enjoy the benefits of being a majority. It's eye-opening and it's happening right now.THUG brings out the voice that some people needed, and I deeply appreciate the story. Starr being a teenager, Starr being torn by 'should she speak up or not?', Starr being raised in black neighborhood and educated in (mostly) whites', Starr being Chriss' girlfriend, Starr being Starr. There's something about POC writing POC: it feels genuine. So thank you Angie Thomas for writing THUG.I'm hoping to read more real life POCness in the future.

Strong and Powerful
By: Ansi Widya Prabandaru

Oh, wow! Such a strong and powerful book. Talking about how to deal with being a minority, being different, and sometimes being hated for being a minority and different. It's kinda sad that people can treat you unfairly just because the color of your skin or the curls on your hair. It also talks about the importance to speak up.

Very important and a must read.

Something like "to kill the mockingbird"?
By: Christy Melinda

This is a good book which can open your mind a bit about the society around us. It shows us that sometimes we have to see from others' perspective to see about what's right and wrong.
