Usually, thriller contains mystery of the who is the murderer and what is his/her motives. In The Reckoning, the murderer is known and he commits murder in front of readers' eyes. What is unknown is the motive. The murderer was a good man, from a prominent family, a war veteran who had fought for his country. The victim was also a good man, both known to the locals with a good reputation. Although the murderer is the main character, of course he kept his mouth shut about his motive.
